SURFSKATE PROGRAM From Zero to Hero

Do you want to improve your surfing quicker or pick-up a new badass hobby? Surfskating might just be your new favorite thing! In this 7-step program, you’ll learn to surf on concrete; develop your techniques, correct you bad habits & posture, build muscle memories and unlock your maneuvers. You'll be mind-blown to realize how much this translates into your surfing.

Every time after watching a tutorial, you will need to put it all in practice. Some of the skills you might master in one day, others might take a week or more, depending on how fast you learn and how many hours you spend on the board. It helps to film yourself, so you can compare it with the footage of me doing the same thing, correct yourself and then try again until you’re happy with what you see (or how it feels).

***IMPORTANT: The tutorials are shown as a goofy footer. This means right foot in front, left foot in the back. For regular footers, everything is the same, but just mirrored. With surfskating you wanna have the same foot in front as when you surf.

I just wanna warn you that surfskating might be as addictive as surfing. You just wanna do one more round, and then one more… and one more… ;)

  • 2- Get On & Off

    Learn how to push yourself, get on the board with your feet in the right position and how to get off in a safe way.

  • 3- Basic Position

    Learn everything about the most stable basic position for surfskating and surfing. This technique is based on the biomechanics of surfing and will most likely change your surfing.

  • 4- Frontside Turns

    Learn how to do a basic frontside turn. Frontside on a wave means facing the wave, leaning on your toes. If you're goofy this means going left, for regulars it means going right.

  • 5- Backside Turns

    Learn how to do a basic backside turn. Backside means with your back towards the wave, leaning on your heels. For goofy footers this is going right, as for regular footers this is turning left.

  • 6- Generating Speed on Frontside

    Learn how to generate speed on your frontside. Or in other words, learn how to pump. This way you can keep going forever, you never have to get off the board anymore to push yourself.

  • 7- Linking Turns Together

    Learn how to link it all together, combining generating speed with frontside turns with backside turns. Use your imagination to really surf the concrete. It also includes two extra exercises to challenge you to generate speed while turning.

    An extra exercise to learn how to generate speed. This will help you to understand how to use your hips, how to compress and decompress actively and how to use your arms.
