Some seasons arrive with torrential rain or blistering heat. Others arrive slowly, sweetly, over a stretch of time. Some naturally close on their own, sometimes with the change of weather, others you can actively change yourself.
You can call in your next season slowly, if you like. You can also want some things to change, but know that don’t have to turn your world on its head in a day.
A few new songs on a playlist that completely change the feeling of your morning. A new route on your morning walk, a different way home on your drive home from work. Saying yes to a few invitations you’d normally say no to, or no to a few reauests you’d usually just oblige. Shaking up your usual midweek staple meals. Deciding to do a candle lit ritual one night instead of watching Netflix. It can be anything. Literally anything. It doesn’t have to be deeply profound or life imploding or earth shattering. It can step by slow, curious step.
Trying different things, big and small, watching what happens, and allowing it to start to be different. Allowing the comforting familiarity of this past season to dissolve. Allowing yourself to slowly be different. To face the season anew.
