If you looked inside the hungry heart of Mandy Huser, you would find 1/3 spontaneous road trips, 1/3 indie folk music, 1/3 words. Connection, feeling and writing is her fuel.
These journal prompts were written to encourage you to allow your thoughts to breathe. To learn to embrace the mess and become so intimately connected to yourself that you can more easily lean into trusting that your humanness and your story is worth loving. Worth celebrating. Worth knowing. Worth seeing.
Why write?
i. It can be a tool to re-write and re-frame stories that you exist within. It can help you heal. As you heal yourself, you heal the world.
ii. It can help ground you to be where you are- but it can also help you process your past and visualise your future
iii. It is never not a vulnerable and deeply personal process- but no one sees or experiences the world in the same way you do. Allow this to be liberating. If you take the time to develop a practice and connect inwardly with yourself, if you feel the discomfort and you share it, send it, write it anyway, your honesty and courage will wake other people up.
v. What you have to say matters. Powerful writing stems from allowing space for the ebbs and flows of being human. It doesn’t have to sound pretty or good, have rhyme or structure. It just needs to be honest.
Listen to the audio file first to get to know Mandy, and learn more about the journaling exercise. Then download the journaling exercise. You can print off the document and write directly on that, or copy the questions into a journal or somewhere that feels good for you.
